Prices Realized at August 22, 2025 Cast Iron Collector’s Auction

I created a slideshow with all prices realized from a cast iron collector’s auction held on August 22, 2025. This was day one of a two-day auction. The auction was held at Dinky’s Auction Center in Montgomery Indiana.1 It was an in-person auction, and it ran simultaneously online at Auction Zip.

The second day of the auction was held on August 23, 2025. You can find those results here.

I followed the August 22, 2025 auction online, and created a video that details my preparation, things I took into consideration, and my (unsuccessful) bid on an Iron Mountain (by Griswold) cast iron skillet lid. It also made running commentary with my thought process as I watched the auction. If you are new to cast iron auctions, you might find it helpful. You can find it here. You might also find it helpful to review my two posts about vintage cast iron collector’s auctions. You can find those here and here.

Video with Prices Realized

The prices in the slideshow are sorted from the highest price realized ($3,300 for a Griswold Dutch Oven no. 13 with lid) to the lowest ($5 for two aluminum Wagner steak platters).

As you review the results, remember that the prices shown do not include a 20% buyer’s premium if the successful bidder is online (no premium in this auction if the bidder was in-person). They also do not include a $15 handling fee plus actual shipping cost for those who were online bidders and needed to have their wins shipped.

The $3,300 Dutch Oven therefore would cost the successful online bidder at least $3,960 when the buyer’s premium was added in. If the winning bidder was to have the piece shipped, add an additional $15 handling fee plus the actual cost of shipping.
