While accessing the sites for the publicly available Griswold catalog number 45 and Griswold Bulletin A6, I ran across a 32-page Lodge cast iron goods catalog in the public domain that is available for free download: “Cast Iron Goods, Sad Irons, Hollow Ware, Grates, Andirons, Well Wheels Lasts and Stands Manufactured by Lodge Manufacturing Company, South Pittsburg Tennessee.” What a goldmine! While the catalog is undated, it is said to be from 1910.
Old company catalogs are invaluable to for collectors to identify and date old cast iron and aluminum pieces.
I want to credit Lodge collector John Clough for initially making this catalog available to cast iron collectors through various Facebook sites. It’s frustrating when credit is not given where it’s due, and I can’t help but think that this particular Lodge catalog originally came from John. I first saw this catalog when John freely shared it, and I want to at least acknowledge him for my original sighting of this precious old catalog.
